Hello, Lauren!

Lauren began her yogic journey 13 years ago in Cleveland, Ohio. When Lauren moved to Salisbury for a teaching position, she found the need for a physical activity that would aid in relaxation. That's when she found her home at Soul Yoga. Lauren began practicing consistently there as an energy exchange student. After practicing at Soul Yoga for a year, she signed up for Eva Whipple’s 200hr yoga teacher training with no intention of teaching.

Obviously, the intention not to teach did not last long! After Lauren completed her 200hr yoga teacher training with in 2017 and began teaching at Soul Yoga. During this time she became the assistant studio manager of Soul Yoga, and because of her dedication to the studio Eva approached Lauren about buying the studio. In February of 2021, Lauren because the third owner of Soul Yoga.

Since her 200hr training ended, Lauren has engaged in a variety of additional trainings and has taught many styles of classes which include: vinyasa, chair yoga, gentle yoga, kid's yoga, heated classes, and private classes.

In 2021 Lauren completed a 300hr advanced yoga training with Susanna Barkataki through Ignite Wellness. Susanna Barkataki’s advanced training helps yoga teachers and studios become leaders in equity, diversity and yogic values. Lauren is currently working on completing her 300hr advanced yoga training with Jason Crandell. This training, focuses on helping teachers develop comprehensive curriculums for their students, and integrating modern sports science with ancient understanding in asana technique.

While all 8 limbs of yoga are equally important to Lauren, asana has helped her find her breath and meditation. Her practice on the mat helps her develop yogic practices off of the mat. You can find Lauren at a variety of classes at Soul Yoga! You can often find Lauren at almost anyone’s class, but you can win a bet by finding her at Roxie or Jen's classes, as they encourage her to explore her asana practice and let the poses be a meditation practice or Clare's Restorative class so she can really rest and digest.

When Lauren is not on the mat, she is often walking her 10yr old dog Gibbs. However, if you run into them, please say hi but do not look Gibbs in the eyes. He's cute, but he's a land shark!
