Reflexology

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is an alternative health practice that involves applying pressure to specific reflex points on the feet, hands, and ears, which are believed to correspond to other parts of the body. The theory behind reflexology is that these reflex points are connected to specific organs and systems in the body through energy pathways or channels and that applying pressure to them can help to promote healing, relaxation, and balance in the body. Reflexology practitioners use their fingers and thumbs to pressure these reflex points. They may also use other techniques, such as massage or stretching, to help release tension and promote relaxation.

Reflexology is generally considered safe for most people, but sometimes, it may not be appropriate or safe. Reflexology is not recommended for individuals in the first trimester of pregnancy or those with recent foot or ankle injuries, surgery, gout, infections, or rashes on the feet or ankles. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider before trying reflexology, especially if you have any medical conditions or concerns. Reflexology should not be used as a substitute for conventional medical care or treatment.
